Reply to; To Attack or to Not Attack?

This article my colleague has written is very interesting. Israel is a concern because their views of war are different. There will always be a disagreement between Iran and Israel, as well as Iran and the U.S. The question remains: do we stop Israel if they decide to attack Iran? What draws the line between being an ally of Israel, or being a super power to protect all nations? If an attack were to happen, it might become a problem for Israel, but since Israel is our ally doesn't that mean we have to help them? All said, I don't believe Israel will attack unless further provoked by Iran in severe ways. Yes Iran has no nuclear weapons, but to Israel it doesn't matter, they will always dislike Iran.
This post has interesting points, and it was an interesting read. Only time can tell what Israel and Iran will do to each other. It could be considered a stale mate in my opinion, both Israel and Iran are ready to attack the other, or so it seems. If such a battle comes, it will be up to the U.S. to help to halt it from happening in severity. We can only hope nothing stirs up.

Secret Serivce Crackdown

A few weeks ago, a few of the Presidents secret service agents ignored their duties and disgraced their job. The secret service's job is to protect the President, not order hookers like in Colombia. So instead of watching out for suspicious people to safeguard the President, they consulted with hookers. It wasn’t known of until a dispute of how much two agents would pay the woman occurred. It could've been a dangerous matter of life or death if someone were to attack the President while agents weren't doing their job. Secondly this apparently isn't the first time something like this has happened, which raises thought of our President actually being safe at all times. Clearly any agency of any kind may stray from their duties, but the secret service can’t afford to pull away from the matter of protecting the President. It’s a scary thought that such an important job can be so easily compromised, under our noses. If something were to happen to the President because of this scandal it would be catastrophic and the agents would probably be more than terminated from their job. It just goes to show how human nature is very manipulative, even people of the secret service whose job is the most important one of all. Anyone, even the President himself can be susceptible to corruption or wrong doing, and it’s a scary thought. Nothing happened so it’s a relief, but it isn't completely over with as long as human behavior continues to be.

A Unique and Horrible Crime

My fellow government classmate LMorris, posted a uniqueopinion on the Trayvon Martin case that has recently spurred nationwide anger. I agree on my classmate’s opinions on how the case should’ve been handled. The first thing is George Zimmerman killed a young man, we need to put aside his “racial profiling” and get into the main idea, he killed someone who has a huge chance of being innocent, almost positively innocent. I agree with our innocent into proven guilty idea, but let’s face it that this case is real unique. No real sincere evidence can be found, making it hard to prove it. I believe the proof we have is enough, but we shouldn’t jump the gun. This post was posted before George Zimmerman turned himself in, and now he has. He should’ve been arrested, but this turning himself in is bigger proof that he did it, knowing his consequences. This case goes to show you that sometimes our ways of dealing with criminals is slow or corrupt in a sense. The Florida law of standing your ground is ok, but if it turns into a way to get away with crimes, it should be looked into carefully, and may need some amending. It is clearly an outdated law as of this case.  The big stale mate was innocent until proven guilty, as this case had no huge evidence. Now it seems it will be concluded, and he will receive some kind of punishment I hope. This may be a wake-up call for various laws dealing with crime cases, only time can tell what this case will teach us.

Blaming Presidents for being "bad"

I have heard people recently saying over the years, that they hate president W Bush. They say such things, but they cannot back it up with a why. The simplest answer is he was "bad" and no other thing. People have conditioned others to belive their opinions hail over all. If one person says it, the next mindless person agrees forcing the friend of this mindless person to agree with him. It spreads like a disease. I believe some people cannot make their own minds up, so they go off some leading politician for a pointer.
Back to the bad President part, I do not believe W Bush was bad, only he made false decisions every here and there like a normal person. Presidents aren't God, and make mistakes or silly actions like any person would. Like a normal person, he also had moments of praise, everyone has ups and downs. People wonder why we voted for him again? Well guess what? You picked him so why call anyone bad?
People have done the exact same treatment to Obama. I am not the type to insult for having your own opinion, and I do know people don't always agree with me. I think if people want to smack talk Presidents, why don't they go run for it and see how easy it is then. I have come to the conclusion that people will always have alternate political views, opinions and what not. Therefore calling a President bad isn't necessarily bad in itself because it shows that we are healthy as a country. Criticism is okay, just remember to back up your opinions or you will look like a fool.

America's Problems

This particular blog has some deep meaning to some people. Being American is being diverse and most people are fine with that very fact. He claims there is certain Americans of European descent who aren’t as comfortable with the diverse cultures of their country. People should realize that although America started with Europeans, it doesn’t really matter what “race” you are. He goes on about not thinking Obama would’ve won the presidency, as he also said he didn’t think America was ready for a black President. I agree that most people would think America wasn’t ready for a black President. I think that African Americans have much of a right to this country as any other ethnicity. If we remember how we came to be in this country, people should then stop being naive about our races and cultures. I agree with most of the things this blogger says, except for the fact he uses “their people”, referring to African Americans. I think it is very incorrect to use that term. I think people shouldn’t act like whites can only run America. All ethnicities of American descent are American; therefore we all should be equal. This idea is still taking time to be set in America, and it has be preached for many years. This showed me some insight on how people think still, and it’s a bit disappointing.

Unfathomable Burning of Korans

This is an article about how we “accidently” burned some Korans during a library clean up. We claimed it was a mistake but who knows if its true. This article proves some valuable points about how we handled things in Afghanistan. We have done this to ourselves, burning what means a lot of importance to their culture. I agree with this writer in the fact of their anger being understandable. People must know, Afghans hold different values then us Americans, therefore becoming more violent then how we handle things. If someone burned our flag, we feel disappointed, not violent usually. The Koran is the key of their religion, life, and culture. What our military has done is unacceptable, and should carry more intel about the Koran, so “accidents” don’t happen. We therefore let harm upon our soldiers, laying death to two. I don’t think people will ever respect other cultures/religions in our country. We need to take things accountable and not make silly “mistakes.” If we will ever be considered a great country, it would be first to not make dumb mistakes and upsetting foreign countries. I think this author proves the point in how we handled this situation a little wrong. We need to be accountable for our people, and our military forces should know better than to burn a Koran knowing its consequences. I don’t think it was an accident, we don’t send undereducated military forces to burn stuff in a library. Maybe it was an accident, but a dumb one at that.

Government allows for more space for wind power

This Article from The New York Times seemed very interesting to me. The Federal Government is willing to let more space open for the wind energy scheme. It would give us more power, a bit more easy on the environment. I'm no advocate or crazy environmentalist, but it seems like a good idea. However instead of spending money to do so, it should go to more pressing matters. Our president may be thinking right for doing this, but is it important at all? It is a way for us to save money, however, it is costly first. This explains how it can create more jobs, and that is good I suppose. This Article is interesting to me, and is interesting to know plans for better energy.
